Peace River MLA’s Davies, Bernier to pursue re-election
B.C. United has declared MLAs Mike Bernier and Dan Davies as candidates for re-election in 2024.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – B.C. United has announced the re-election bids of the Peace River MLAs Mike Bernier and Dan Davies.
Leader of BC United, Kevin Falcon, shared the news Tuesday, also naming the mayor of Houston, Shane Brienen, as B.C. United’s candidate for Nechako Lakes.
Davies was elected as MLA for Peace River North in 2017, re-elected in 2020, and currently serves as Shadow Minister for Social Development and Poverty Reduction.
In a social media post, Davies expressed his excitement to run for re-election.
“I am excited to announce that I am running in the upcoming Provincial election for BC United. We have a fantastic team and have a plan for a better BC,” wrote Davies.
“We cannot continue under the harsh realities of the NDP’s failed affordability plans, crime and disorder plans, and a completely failed healthcare plan.”
Bernier was elected as MLA for Peace River South in 2013, 2017 and 2020 and currently serves as the Shadow Minister for Forests.

In a letter on social media, Falcon highlighted the accomplishments of Bernier and his commitment to B.C. United.
“Mike has shown a steadfast dedication to improving the lives of all British Columbians while putting the needs of his constituents first,” wrote Falcon.
“Mike has been, and continues to be, a key member of our BC United team, and I look forward to our continued work together.”
The next provincial election will be held on October 19, 2024.
