Quality Wind Farm receives minor damages from wildfire

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — Quality Wind Farm, located near Tumbler Ridge, received minor damages due to the West Kiskatinaw River wildfire.

Capital Power, which operates the wind farm, said the fire impacted a portion of above-ground electrical lines in the south section of the site. 

The main transmission line and connection to the grid were not damaged and stayed in operation.

The West Kiskatinaw River wildfire is approximately 25,095 hectares, and Tumbler Ridge residents were recently allowed to return home after being evacuated earlier this month.
