BCWS has two crews and a water tender responding.

The fire is believed to be human-caused, and BCWS says there may have been some non-vegetative fire on site, meaning it may not have started as a wildfire.

Highway 29 is closed between Cache Creek Bridge and Road 287 for 0.9 kilometres, according to DriveBC. An assessment is in progress.
