Dawson Creek RCMP investigating daytime shooting

Dawson Creek RCMP received multiple calls about a lunchtime shooting in the Mile Zero Trailer Park on Tuesday.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Dawson Creek RCMP received multiple calls about a lunchtime shooting in the Mile Zero Trailer Park on Tuesday.

At approximately 12:23 p.m., the RCMP received reports of two vehicles involved in gunfire before fleeing the area.

One vehicle was reportedly a black coloured sedan, and the other was an older, cream-coloured motorhome with orange stripes on top and middle of the body.

According to police, officers quickly arrived at the scene, and no injuries were reported.

Both vehicles were later located, and the investigation is ongoing.

RCMP says it is currently believed the parties know one another, and the incident was targeted.

The shooting in Dawson Creek happened about 10 hours before the shootout in Fort St. John.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident or with dashcam footage recording in the area to call the Dawson Creek detachment and ask to speak to the General Investigation Section at 250-784-3700.
