GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB – Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested three individuals and seized drugs, cash, and a firearm after a drug trafficking investigation.

In November, Grande Prairie Crime Reduction Unit began an investigation into the sale of illicit drugs within Grande Prairie.

On December 16th, the Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance from the RCMP Police Dog Services and the Grande Prairie RCMP General Duty, executed a search warrant at a residence in the downtown area of Grande Prairie, which resulted in the following items being seized:

Leonard Huyghebaert, 50, and Carole Gaudet, 47, of Grande Prairie have both been charged with the following:

Huyghebaert has also been charged with two additional counts of possession of a weapon while prohibited.

An additional 42-year-old male from Grande Prairie has also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x3. He is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on February 10th, 2021.

Huyghebaert and Gaudet are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on January 11, 2021.
