Season on the line for Huskies in game six
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Huskies are facing their first must win situation in the NWJHL playoffs. They’ll need a win on home ice tonight in game six against the Fairview Flyers if they hope to force a seventh and deciding game on the road on Saturday.
Last time out the Huskies had a good start as they had a 2-1 lead to show for themselves in the first period of game five but it was short lived. The Flyers would tie the Huskies before the intermission, and a big third period propelled them to a 6-2 win.
Staying out of the penalty box will be key for the Huskies as they allowed three power play goals before the second was five minutes old in game five which gave the Flyers plenty of momentum down the stretch.
The series has been dominated by the home teams with those playing in their own rink off to a 5-0 record up to this point.
Should the Huskies force a game seven that will take place at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night in Fairview.
Tonight’s faceoff is slated for 8 p.m.
