Dr. Charles Jago addresses NEBCRM Coalition as Keynote Speaker

This morning, Charles Jago addressed a crowd over coffee and breakfast to discuss the potential of the Peace, how he became involved in Northern BC, and how the Coalition can speak as one, united voice.

Formerly the president of UNBC in Prince George, he is now the board chair of Northern Health’s board of directors — which he joined in late-2007.

Of the Peace region, Jago said it hosts many unique and strong communities, which he admires.

“You have remarkably energetic and resilient communities, both small and large, with strong communal personalities, dedicated leadership, and outspokenness that can either be refreshing — or downright intimidating.”

Dr. Jago described two different futures 50 years from now for the Peace, depending n the actions of the respective communities now.

He also received the Order of BC in 2013, for his contributions in education, health care, economic development, the Arts, community service, wherein he was called an ‘articulate and respected advocate for Northern British Columbia.’
