Lawyer urges son of ex-Hells Angels boss Boucher to turn himself in
MONTREAL — The lawyer for the son of former Hells Angels boss Maurice (Mom) Boucher is appealing to his client to surrender as quickly as possible.
Francis Boucher walked out of Montreal’s Bordeaux jail in broad daylight Monday, two months before the end of a sentence he was serving for uttering death threats against police officers.
Lawyer Dimitrios Strapatsas tells The Canadian Press he was informed by jail officials shortly after Boucher left Bordeaux that an administrative error led to his release.
There has been speculation he was able to get out with help from someone on the inside.
Strapatsas said today Boucher has not contacted him since Monday.
The lawyer says he’s afraid Boucher’s last name will lead to police overreacting in the event of a confrontation. Strapatsas says police have told him a tactical unit is looking for him.
