The society is raffling a 2026 Polaris Ranger XP 1,000 North Star, which was provided by Hi-Performance Motor Sports, which has partnered with the Women’s Resource Society.
Estefania Albornoz, manager of fundraising and community engagement at the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society, said: “[The raffle will happen on] a Friday, right before Father’s Day.”

When asked how the money raised during the raffle will be used, Albornoz said: “We don’t know yet, because that depends on how much money we raised after the raffle, but we [are] always looking for funds to help [with] immediate needs.”
These needs can include repairs at Skye’s Place, fixing a basement leak or electrical repairs.
“We always need money available to go and fix it as soon as possible, because our tenants [at] Skye’s [Place], depend on us to do that,” she explained, adding that applying for grants is not feasible.
Albornoz mentioned that the society fundraises constantly to have money available and provide a safe place for its tenants who live in Skye’s Place.
The society has already covered, but it still needs to raise more funds to break even, she added.
The raffle tickets cost $100 each.
