Future Docotors and Nurses are training this summer in Fort St. John
As with each summer over 300 students from UNBC’s School of Nursing and 45 from the Northern Medical Program are gaining clinic experience across all across Northern BC. In our region students have been placed in all the major communities including here in Fort St. John.
The idea behind the program is to allow students the opporunity to see what it’s like to work in a health care facility and to see the benefits of working in rural communities.
Both the medical program and the Nurse Practitioner program produced its first graduates this year. Together with the BSc in Nursing, the three programs produced 98 grads in 2008.
