Taylor’s annual report details legislative department’s activities for 2025

The District of Taylor’s 2025 annual report provided details on the district’s legislative service department’s activities, including providing 21 grants-in-aid.

TAYLOR, B.C. — The district’s legislative services department supported 89 meetings, coordinated 12 delegations and provided  21 grant-in-aid funding to organizations in 2025, according to the annual report. 

At the District of Taylor special council meeting on June 15th, district staff presented the annual report to the council, which provided details of the legislative services department’s activities in 2025. 

According to the report, the district’s legislative services department, along with the financial services department, is often the first point of contact or direct link between the public and local government.

The report said the team, during 2025, engaged in the Administrative Professionals’ Conference and various other Emergency Operation Centre training opportunities. 

The team welcomed an interim deputy corporate officer,, and the financial services manager took on an additional role of interim corporate services director. 

The legislative services team supported 89 meetings and coordinated with 12 delegations on topics, including the 2025 Christmas Light-up winners’ presentations.

In addition, grant-in-aid funding was provided to 21 organizations, including the the Fort St. John Association for Community Living and the Taylor Curling Club. 

The district’s council adopted 29 bylaws and policies, including the Parks and Facilities Fees and Charges Amendment Bylaw, the Zoning Bylaw and the Snow Removal and Ice Control Policies. 

In 2025, the district posted five requests for quotations, five requests for proposals and entered into five service agreements, 18 grant funding agreements and four lease agreements. 

The district council attended multiple conferences, including the BC Natural Resources Forum in Prince George, the North Central Local Government Association convention in Prince Rupert, and the Spark Women’s Leadership Conference in Fort St. John.
