Updated June 16th, 9:30 a.m.: This article has been updated to include a statement from the Fort St. John RCMP.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John RCMP are investigating possible human remains found near the city last week. 

In a written statement to Energeticcity.ca on June 16th, the RCMP said officers received a report on June 8th of what is believed to be human remains discovered by BC Hydro wildlife crew downstream from Old Fort

Staff Sergeant Kris Clark said: “The B.C. Coroners Service is engaged and are working with [the] police to confirm the remains are, in fact, human and, if so, the identity of the individual.” 

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fort St. John RCMP Serious Crime Unit at 250-787-8140. 

Energeticcity.ca has reached out to the B.C. Coroners Service for a comment. This story will be updated as and when new information becomes available.
