FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Energetic County Fair Music Festival Society is seeking volunteers for this year’s event.

The Energetic County Fair will be hosted at North Peace Rodeo on July 16th to 18th.

According to Dale Plourde, president of the Energetic County Fair Music Festival Society, the fair is seeking volunteers for several positions, including;

Plourde says the fair is 100 per cent volunteer based. The fair currently has around 50 volunteers, but usually reaches 100, said Plourde.

There are numerous benefits to becoming a volunteer, according to Plourde.

“It’s a great way to meet people and get involved in the community,” said Plourde. “If you work even a six-hour shift you get a festival pass, so it works out to about 30 dollars an hour as far as a complimentary ticket.

“Just being a part of something that is helping make life better in the community is something that people feel good about.”

Plourde says the only requirements for applying to become a volunteer is to be responsible, keen and happy.

Those who wish to apply can do so on the Energetic County fair website.

The fair will consist of three days of live music, food vendors, First Nations art and culture and more, according to the fair’s website

Over 100 volunteers signed up for last year’s fair, which took place from July 17th to 19th.

Tickets can be purchased online. Prices range from $149 for an early-bird three-day pass to $798 for an early-bird table reserved for eight people.
