Fort St. John artist wins big at Country Music Alberta Awards
Fort St. John artist Kyle McKearney won ‘best male artist of the year’ at the 2026 Country Music Alberta Awards.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A Fort St. John musician has won big at the 15th annual Country Music Alberta Awards.
Kyle McKearney has been named ‘male artist of the year’ at the event, which celebrates and honours country musicians in Alberta.
McKearney was born in Fort St. John, where he lived until he graduated high school.

His hit song Rearview cracked the top 50 charts for airplay on Canada country radio for the weeks of March 2nd, 9th and 16th, according to Pollstar.
Currently Rearview sits 48th on Billboards’ Canada Country chart for the week of March 21st, 2026.
In a Facebook post, McKearney thanked his supporters.
“I can’t thank you all enough. This was a wild win for me and I appreciate your belief and support.”

Following his award, McKearney shared on Facebook that he will be a support act for 54.40 at the Rock the Range festival at Qualicum Beach on September 12th.
McKearney’s latest album, Wildflower, is expected to be released early next year. Rearview is the first single on the album, with another single to be released in April.
Energeticcity.ca reached out to McKearney’s agency for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
