The first local 100 Women Who Care event occurred in Fort St. John back in 2017.
The Men’s Shed was up against the Fort St. John Friends of the Public Library and children’s sports charity KidSport North Peace for the funds during the event.
Each presented what they might do with the donated money to those in attendance, with the crowd of ladies voting to determine a benefactor.
The Men’s Shed – a local non-profit charity aimed at contributing to overall men’s health and wellness, self-esteem and camaraderie through building projects – said in a Facebook post it was “still processing the generosity that filled the room.”
