Bridge maintenance to close road north of Fort St. John

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A bridge near Fort St. John is due to be closed for maintenance next week. 

According to a Facebook post uploaded to Dawson Road Maintenance – North Peace’s page, Siphon Creek Road will be closed from March 9th to March 13th for scheduled bridge maintenance on the Leech Creek Bridge. 

Siphon Creek Road links Fort St. John to the Osborne community north of Fort St. John.

The closure will be in effect “to keep everyone travelling safely.” 

During the maintenance, crews will be replacing four stringers to help “ensure the bridge remains safe and reliable for years to come,” Dawson Road Maintenance said.  

It further added that a detour will be in place for local traffic and specific route details will be shared closer to the date of closure.
