The Masquerade Gala has raised over $87,000 in profit for the Chetwynd and District Hospital Foundation

CHETWYND, B.C. — The Masquerade Gala, which took place in Chetwynd, has raised $87,000, according to the Chetwynd and District Hospital Foundation.
The Chetwynd and District Hospital Foundation announced the achievement in a Facebook post on May 13th, 2026.Â
According to the post, the Masquerade Gala raised a profit of $87,000, and achieved the foundation’s goal of funding an Emergency Airway Management System, including a GlideScope and a bronchoscope.Â
Airway management is an important aspect of emergency care, according to the Canadian Journal of Health Technologies. It includes treatment and techniques which allow for oxygenation and ventilation to help keep the airway open, used for critical conditions requiring airway management.Â
A GlideScope is a tool which helps achieve a good view of the laryngeal inlet, the entryway to the airway, and the vocal cords.Â
According to Vancouver Coastal Health, a bronchoscope is the instrument used for a bronchoscopy, a test in which a doctor examines the airways. During the test, a thin, flexible tube is passed through the patient’s nose or mouth. Â
The Gala took place on April 18th at the Chetwynd and Area Recreation Centre.Â
