CHETWYND, B.C. — The Chetwynd and District Hospital Foundation has received several sponsorships as it shores up its Masquerade Ball coming up in April.

Included as a sponsor for the event is the South Peace First Nations Primary Care Clinic, a sponsor described by the hospital foundation as “everything this event stands for — community, connection and care” in a Facebook post in late January.

Additionally, both Tourmaline Oil and Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) have each signed up as title sponsors, donating $10,000 each, according to the foundation’s president Jenn Parrish.

“[South Peace FN Primary Care Clinic] utilizes the hospital as well,” said Parrish to Energeticcity.ca. “They have to work together with Northern Health and with our physicians in town. They are not associated with Northern Health, but there’s a bit of a partnership there.”

Parrish says further assistance came in the form of Cory Slater, who is a staff member at the South Peace First Nations Primary Care Clinic as well as a board member of the foundation.

The event has taken place for the past three years, said Parrish, with money raised for equipment the hospital could use.

In 2026, funds will be raised for a GlideScope imaging system, used for video laryngoscopy, bronchoscopy and airway visualization in proper emergency airway management.

Entertainment for the evening will include duelling pianos, a dance, dinner and a silent auction.

Tickets cost $85 and can be purchased by contacting Parrish directly at 250-401-1818 or emailing the foundation at chethospitalfoundation@gmail.com.

Energeticcity.ca has reached out to Slater for further information.

The 2026 Chetwynd and District Hospital Foundation’s masquerade gala takes place on April 18th at the Chetwynd and District Rec Centre.
