Amboe most recently served as executive director of the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation, a position she held from 2021 before announcing her departure in December 2025.

As a long-time local resident, the NPCF said Amboe is well-known throughout the North Peace region and has a strong understanding of community needs and priorities.

“The board of directors of the NPCF is delighted to welcome Kelly as our executive director,” said board chair Tracey Wolsey.

“We look forward to working with her as the foundation continues to support local priorities, connect donors with causes they care about and build a strong, resilient community for generations to come.”

Amboe replaces Susan Adams, who announced her resignation in September. Adams was selected as the foundation’s first executive director in 2021.

In a statement to Energeticcity.ca, Wolsey added the NPCF remains active and focused on expanding its reach in the year ahead.

“We continue to be very active and look forward to an exciting 2026 where we will continue to work with donors and organizations to deepen our impact across the region,” she said.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kelly Amboe to our organization. Her skills, experience and knowledge of the region will be a strong asset to NPCF.”

The NPCF also thanked Adams for her “leadership and expertise,” wishing her well in her future endeavours.
