Fort St. John Hospital Foundation executive director to step down

Kelly Amboe, who has been with the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation since 2019 and has served as its executive director since 2021, has resigned from her role.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The executive director of the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation is stepping down after four years in the role.

In a December 5th news release, the foundation announced Kelly Amboe has made the “heartfelt decision to begin a new chapter.” Amboe joined the foundation in 2019 and became its executive director in 2021.

“Kelly’s steady presence, thoughtful leadership and unwavering commitment to the community have been invaluable,” the foundation said in the release. “While we will deeply miss her, we are grateful for what she has helped build and the spirit she leaves behind.”

Although Amboe declined to comment on the specifics behind her departure, she shared a short statement with Energeticcity.ca, reflecting positively on her time with the organization.

“The foundation has always done great work for the community, and that will continue,” Amboe said. “I’m deeply grateful to our generous community and its kindness and generosity that has inspired me all these years.”

Community members are invited to stop by the FSJ Hospital Foundation office during regular hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 12th to celebrate Amboe and wish her well.

The office is located inside the Fort St. John Hospital, through the main door and around the corner from the gift shop.

According to the foundation, its board is preparing for the transition and will begin searching for a new executive director in the coming weeks. More details are expected at a later date.
