Peace region farmers invited to emergency preparation workshops
The Producer Emergency Awareness Sessions aim to boost agricultural producers’ emergency response and will be held November 17th and 18th in Farmington and Montney.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Emergency preparation workshops will be held for Peace region producers next month.
According to the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) in a Facebook post, the Producer Emergency Awareness Sessions aim to boost agricultural producers’ emergency response and resilience, providing “practical tools and strategies” to protect farms and livestock during disasters.
During the workshops hosted by the BC Agriculture Council (BCAC) and AgSafe BC, participants will learn how to build a farm-specific emergency plan, understand B.C.’s emergency response framework and use tools such as the Premises ID.Â
The PRRD said the sessions will also explain the role of local emergency operations centres and how to connect with them during a crisis.
Two in-person workshops are scheduled for the Peace region:
- South Peace (Farmington Community Hall) – November 17th at 7 p.m.
- North Peace (Montney Community Hall) – November 18th at 7 p.m.
The sessions are free to attend and those interested can register here.
