How many tuned in?: PRRD reveals watch figures for livestreamed and recorded meetings
The Peace River Regional District has gathered information on livestream and meeting recordings posted online to Facebook.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — New data has revealed how many, or how few, people tuned in online to watch recent civic meetings where important decisions are made about the future of the Peace region.
During the October 2nd meeting of the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) board of directors, staff submitted a report on the metrics of livestream and recorded board meetings.
All public meetings are broadcast live to Facebook “to support public engagement and accessibility,” according to staff.
The report reviewed statistics from the September 18th committee of the whole, regional hospital district board and regional board meetings; the September 11th electoral area directors committee and rural budget administration committee meetings; and the August 21st electoral area directors committee and rural budget committee meetings.
According to the report, the meetings have garnered 141 three-second views, 26 one-minute views and 48 15-second views, with an average watch time of between 55 seconds and five minutes, eight seconds.
Board meetings appear to retain the most audience, with a watch time of five minutes, 17 seconds, and the September 18th regional board meeting having gathered 87 one-minute views, 116 15-second views and 249 three-second views by October 2nd.
The report was included in the agenda but not discussed by the directors or staff.
