“We appreciate everyone who fuelled up, enjoyed the BBQ, made a purchase and to our dedicated team members for their hard work,” the Co-op said in a September 25th Facebook post. “Together, we made a difference!”

The event, held on September 16th at Co-op gas bars around the country, including in Fort St. John and Fort Nelson, invited residents to fuel up and purchase in-store items, with a portion of proceeds going directly to the selected charities.

Both locations also hosted barbecues by donation, drawing steady community support throughout the day.

This year’s total marks the most ever raised locally through Fuel Good Day, nearly doubling the $4,352.11 raised in 2024, which is described as “record-breaking” in the Facebook post.

According to Federated Co-operatives Limited, Fuel Good Day has raised over $4.9 million across western Canada since 2017, supporting food banks, schools, healthcare groups, animal shelters and other community organizations.
