People evacuated from 100th Avenue building amid gas smell
The Fort St. John Fire Department investigated an office building on 100th Avenue following reports of a gas smell.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A gas smell resulted in a downtown office building being evacuated on Tuesday morning.Â
Employees of an office building on 100th Avenue were evacuated at around 9 a.m. on July 29th after a gas smell was discovered, which could be smelled from as far as 103rd Avenue. Â
The building was evacuated while the Fort St. John Fire Department assessed the situation.Â
The department told Energeticcity.ca the building was cleared without incident, and believed the smell to have been condensate, a liquid known to be associated with liquid natural gas (LNG) which smells similar.Â
Individuals were cleared to return to the building at around 9:20 a.m.
