FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Provincial Courts between July 14th and 18th.
Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, July 14th
George Joseph Delaronde (born 1974):
Delaronde was found guilty of being unlawfully in a dwelling-house for an incident in Fort St. John on February 21st, 2023.
Delaronde was issued a 12-month probation order.
Bradley Curtis Hodgins (born 1964):
Hodgins was found guilty of trafficking in a controlled substance for an incident in Fort St. John on July 16th, 2022.
Latest Stories
Hodgins was issued a 12-month conditional sentence, a one-year firearm prohibition and ordered to report for DNA sample collection. A conditional sentence is to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called ‘house arrest.’
Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, July 16th
Haden Arthur Neitz (born 1994):
Neitz was found guilty of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence for an incident in Baldonnel on July 12th, 2023.
Neitz was sentenced to 542 days of jail time, issued a 10-year firearm prohibition and ordered to report for DNA sample collection.
Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, July 17th
Coby Roy Skiffington (born 1995):
Skiffington was found guilty of the following charges, related to incidents in Fort St. John between March and December 2024:
- Motor vehicle theft
- Mischief $5,000 or under
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (two counts)
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance
- Wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer (two counts)
- Breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence (three counts)
- Flight from police (three counts)
- Breaching a release order
- Disguising their face with intent to commit an offence
Skiffington was issued conditional sentences for a combined total of 2,160 days — nearly six years — in addition to jail time served. Skiffington was also issued 2,160 days of probation, five two-year driving prohibitions, ordered to report for DNA sample collection and made to pay $5,656.66 in restitution, which requires the offender to pay the victim for financial losses the victim suffered because of the crime.
Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, July 18th
Jessica Ann Desjarlais (born 1982):
Desjarlais was found guilty of trafficking in a controlled substance for an incident in Fort St. John on July 16th, 2022. Desjarlais was issued a 15-month conditional sentence, 12-month probation order and a lifetime firearm prohibition.
Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, July 18th
Paul William Kenny (born 1984):
Kenny was issued a $500 recognizance after the allegation following an incident in Dawson Creek on August 3rd, 2024. If Kenny does not follow the conditions laid out by the court, they will have to pay the $500.
Charles Avery McIntosh (born 1971):
McIntosh was found guilty of breaching a probation order for an incident in Dawson Creek on June 14th, 2024. McIntosh was issued a 90-day conditional sentence.
