Road closures planned for Canada Day parade
The City of Fort St. John is informing the public of road closures taking place for the Canada Day parade on July 1st.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Local residents are being informed of downtown road closures related to the Canada Day parade.
According to the City of Fort St. John recreation, the following closures will be in effect for the parade on July 1st.
Starting at 7 a.m., 100th Street will be closed between 96th Avenue and 93rd Avenue, and then at 9 a.m. 100th Street will be closed between 96th Avenue and 108th Avenue on the south side.

Marshalling for the parade will start at 10 a.m. at the north of 108th Avenue at 98th Street.
Also at 10 a.m., the remaining sections of 98th Street and 100th Street (including cross avenues) along the parade route will be barricaded until the parade ends.
The city also recommends the following tips for those attending the parade:
- Reserve your spot along the parade route early

- Obey all signs and directions from traffic control staff
- Dress for the weather and be prepared for rain

Several free Canada Day events will be available to the public, including a pancake breakfast at the Fort St. John Fire Hall, the Farmers Market at Festival Plaza, the Classic Cruisers show and more.
