Fort St. John to receive new long-term care home

The Ministry of Infrastructure has announced a new long-term care home has been approved for Fort St. John.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A new long-term care home is coming to Fort St. John. 

Bowinn Ma, the provincial minister of infrastructure, announced a new long-term care home was in the works in a Facebook post on June 19th.

The facility will be built with private single bedrooms and bathrooms, new social and recreational spaces and feature 84 new beds and a 30-space adult day program.

According to Ma, the business case for the facility has been approved, and the next step of the project, procurement on BC Bid, is underway now. 

BC Bid is an online platform utilized by the provincial government to advertise opportunities for goods, services and construction projects.
