It is officially June which means summer is right around the corner! As we head into the warmer weather, more and more events will be happening across the region. It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most curious about. Sometimes it’s a big decision that will impact property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the most-read stories for the week of May 25 to 31, 2025:
- Hiring Started for Pipeline Expansions: happening along the Westcoast pipeline that runs from Fort Nelson to the American border. Enbridge is in the beginning stages of three expansion programs.
- FSJ Man Looks to Sell A&W Glassware Collection: some of which are over 100 years old. Marcel Kristoff estimates he has 1,300 different A&W glasses from across Canada and the US.
- Alaska Highway Was Closed: on May 29, 2025, between Sikanni Chief Road and Prophet River Sub Road at kilometre 319. The closure was due to a motor vehicle incident but the highway was reopened later that night.
