Pocket Knife Creek wildfire grows to 1,600 hectares
A fire in the Fort Nelson zone that has been listed as ‘under control’ since earlier this week has begun to spread again.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — A fire in the Fort Nelson zone that has been listed as ‘under control’ since earlier this week has begun to spread again.
The Pocket Knife Creek wildfire, which was discovered on May 19th and has been considered ‘under control’ by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) since the 27th, is now listed as ‘out of control’ again.
The blaze has also grown to 1,600 hectares, up from 125 hectares previously.
The suspected cause of the fire remains a lightning strike. BCWS has yet to share details regarding its response to the blaze.
