TAYLOR, B.C. — Another extended round of maintenance has been announced for the Taylor Bridge.

According to a Facebook post by Dawson Road Maintenance, the company responsible for maintaining all provincial roads and highways in the North Peace, this round of maintenance will last from Tuesday, May 20th to Thursday, June 26th.

For the duration of the work, the bridge will be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic led by a pilot car overnight between 7 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. each day, and wide loads won’t be able to cross at all during that time frame.

This will be the sixth time this year maintenance has been performed on the bridge, following daytime work that is still ongoing as of publication time. It’s also the fifth time this year the bridge will undergo overnight maintenance work, after two instances in January, one in February, and one in April.

It also comes a few weeks after Peace River North MLA Jordan Kealy demanded a construction timeline be established for a new Taylor Bridge during the April 10th sitting of the legislative assembly.

The latest updates on the maintenance, as well as information regarding other road conditions and traffic alerts, can be found on DriveBC’s website.
