Devin Calliou guilty of breaching release order, mischief under $5,000
Devin Calliou is guilty of some of the charges brought against him after his March 18th arrest.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Guilty verdicts have been rendered for some of the charges faced by Devin Calliou, a man arrested last month in Fort St. John.
Calliou was arrested on March 18th and charged with mischief to property, theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of failure to comply with an order.
The Dawson Creek RCMP detachment had issued a press release regarding Calliou on March 17th, saying he already had warrants for his arrest for two charges of breaching a release order and one charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He was also issued an additional charge of possession of stolen property greater than $5,000.
Calliou initially had arraignment hearings for all these charges scheduled for April 1st, but the hearings were postponed.
Two of them have since been held; so far, according to Court Services Online, Calliou is guilty of two counts of breaching a release order and one count of mischief $5,000 or under.
For some charges, including two additional counts of breaching a release order and one count of theft of a motor vehicle, “stays of proceedings” were issued.

A stay of proceedings is when a trial is temporarily stopped by the Crown. It can be resumed any time within a year of the stay of proceedings being issued.
Meanwhile, Calliou’s third arraignment hearing for possession of stolen property over $5,000 is currently scheduled for May 27th.
Outside of these incidents, Calliou has an extensive criminal record, with past convictions for breaking and entering, flight from police, unauthorized possession of a firearm and more.
