(UPDATE) Court date confirmed for man charged with multiple offences

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Devin Calliou, a man arrested in Fort St. John who was previously wanted on multiple warrants, is expected to appear in court at the beginning of April.

Calliou was arrested on March 18th and charged with mischief to property, theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of failure to comply with an order.

The Dawson Creek RCMP detachment had issued a press release regarding Calliou on March 17th, saying he already had warrants for his arrest for two charges of breaching a release order and one charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Court Services Online says Calliou will be in court for an arraignment hearing for all of these charges and an additional charge of possession of stolen property greater than $5,000.

Outside of these incidents, Calliou has an extensive criminal record, with past convictions for breaking and entering, flight from police, unauthorized possession of a firearm and more.

The hearing is scheduled for April 1st in Dawson Creek.

UPDATE April 2nd: Calliou’s hearing on April 1st was adjourned, and a new date for the hearing has yet to be confirmed.
