Both of the individuals were extracted from the ice, with help from the NPSAR Ice Rescue and Swiftwater Rescue teams.

Two BC ambulances were dispatched to the scene at roughly 6:25 p.m. and ended up taking both people to the hospital.

RCMP North District media relations officer Madonna Saunderson says despite the pair being taken away for medical treatment, “there appears to be nothing life threatening”.
