FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Huskies’ January-long winning streak continues as they skated to a 3-2 victory on Monday evening.
It was the second of three games in seven days against the Fairview Flyers.
The timing was a makeup date after the originally-scheduled game earlier in January was postponed due to a lack of on-ice officials.

Huskies’ head coach Todd Alexander expressed familiarity with the opponents after the team’s 6-4 win over the Flyers on Friday evening.
“[It] gets tougher to continue to play against an opponent, for sure,” said Alexander. “Realistically, as far as chances, we put two on a platter for them [to score].
“We’ve got to do a better job of making those choices we made. Aside from those mistakes, I was fairly happy with how we played.”
The offence was bolstered by the performances of Taryn Hoskyn and Colby Busche.

Hoskyn had a goal and an assist, and Busche had a pair of assists in the win.
Busche now has four goals and 15 assists for 19 points throughout the streak, which now stands at eight games.
“Colby has been awesome,” said Alexander. “We missed him last year due to school commitments. It was a hole we couldn’t quite fill.
“He’s really found his why as to being here. He’s definitely been one of our better players out on the ice, and he will continue to do that and be a big part of this club as we go into playoffs.”
The Huskies will play the Dawson Creek Kodiaks on Friday evening at Memorial Arena in the penultimate game of their Strike Group North West Junior Hockey League 2024-25 season.
Game time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Further details about the Huskies can be found on the team’s Facebook and Instagram pages or website.
