CHETWYND, B.C. — Emergency department services will be unavailable at the Chetwynd General Hospital for most of the day, according to Northern Health.

The health authority announced via social media at 11:57 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28th that the department was closed until 10:00 p.m. that evening, due to “staffing challenges”.

This is the third diversion of the hospital’s emergency department so far in January, after two that took place during the very first week of 2025.
