HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — The Hudson’s Hope Transfer Station has been successfully upgraded, and the old recycling station relocated to Canyon Road.

The station was previously located at Legacy Market before the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) decided to move it to reduce the attraction of dangerous wildlife.

District of Hudson’s Hope said in a December 9th media release that the newly opened station offers services to residents, including waste disposal and recycling options.

“This significant improvement brings enhanced waste management services to nearby communities,” said the release.

The station also offers the Share Shed Initiative, which encourages residents to donate “gently used items” for others to use.

Residents can participate in the program by bringing reusable items to the Share Shed. Other community members then take the items for free, allowing them to find use in new homes instead of going to waste.

The transfer station is located at 20318 Canyon Road.

General inquiries about waste facilities and programs can be directed to the Environmental Services Department at environmental.services@prrd.bc.ca or 250-784-3200.

More information on the transfer station services can be found on the PRRD’s website
