BC Hydro announces planned overnight outage for Fort St. John, Taylor

A six-hour planned power outage is set to impact parts of Fort St. John and Taylor in early December.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A six-hour planned power outage is set to impact parts of Fort St. John and Taylor in early December.

According to BC Hydro, the outage will begin on December 5th at 10:00 p.m. and last until 4:00 a.m. on the 6th, due to a pole replacement.

The outage will impact 926 BC Hydro customers, in both Fort St. John and the District of Taylor.

However, in a conversation with an Energeticcity.ca reporter, a BC Hydro employee explained that the pole replacement and outage could be rescheduled due to the winter weather.

“For [the] Northern Interior,” the employee explained, “if it’s -15 [degrees Celsius] or below, we would cancel the planned outage and reschedule for another time.”
