Day on the farm fundraiser for women’s shelter salon in Mexico
A beauty salon in Fort St. John is holding its second fundraiser for the construction of a salon and education facility at a women’s shelter in Mexico.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A beauty salon in Fort St. John is holding its second fundraiser for the construction of a salon and education facility at a women’s shelter in Mexico.
Tribe Salon Group is hosting a ‘day on the farm’ fundraiser at the Chambers Horse Drawn Farm in the District of Taylor on October 5th
The group has been fundraising throughout the year for the project and has so far raised over $17,000 for the Mujeres Nuevo Comienzo shelter in Baja California, Mexico.

The event starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. Tickets to attend are $10 cash only per person, and children ages two years old or younger get free entry.
All proceeds will be used to help the salon get to the next phase of the project, which will involve furnishing and equipping the salon with appropriate items following the imminent completion of construction.
Following this, salon employees will travel to Mexico for two weeks to set up the facility and start basic training for the women.
