18-wheeler fire causes delays between Fort St. John and Taylor

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Traffic has slowed between Fort St. John and Taylor because of a vehicle fire.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Traffic has slowed between Fort St. John and Taylor because of a vehicle fire.

According to witnesses at the scene, the fire began in the afternoon of July 8th, on Highway 97 near the Alcan Trailer Park.

Photos and videos from witnesses on social media show an 18-wheeler truck fully engulfed in flames.

According to witnesses who reached out to Energeticcity.ca, the highway is currently reduced to single-lane alternating traffic in the area as a result of the fire.

DriveBC has not updated to show the blaze yet, as of publication time.

Energeticcity.ca contacted both the Taylor and Fort St. John Fire Departments to learn more about the incident. Neither department responded in time for publication.
