Our goal with the awards was to highlight the awesome people, businesses, and organizations that make the North Peace a great place to live. Plus, we’re hoping it helps anyone new in town to check out some local spots so feel free to share the article. It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most curious about. Sometimes it’s a big decision that will impact property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the most-read stories for the week of June 9 to 15, 2024:

1. One Dead, Several Injured: after a vehicle collision on the Sikanni River Bridge on June 12, 2024. According to BC Highway Patrol, one of the drivers involved is suspected to have been impaired.
2. BC Health Ministry Targets Staffing Shortages: in the northeast with new incentives and temporary workers. Hospitals such as Chetwynd have had numerous overnight closures in recent months.
3. 5,600+ Acres of Prime Farmland For Sale: in northern BC. High Barr Plateau will be going up for auction on July 24, 2024.
