Fort St John seeks resident input on bylaw changes
The City of Fort St. John is inviting residents to two open houses regarding proposed bylaw updates for the building and sign bylaws.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John is inviting residents to two open houses regarding proposed bylaw updates for the building and sign bylaws.
The open houses will be held at the Kids Arena Fieldhouse meeting room, covering the building bylaw on May 15th and the sign bylaw on May 16th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. both days.
The proposed changes come in an effort by the city to modernize the language and layout of the bylaws.
“While our current bylaws, established in 2012, have served us well, continuous review and feedback have highlighted areas needing improvement for better consistency and modernization,” the city said in a Facebook post on May 8th.
Attendees of the open houses will be able to share their opinions and feedback on the changes with city staff.
The proposals will be presented to the city council on June 10th for review, and first and second readings of the bylaws are expected to be scheduled for later in the summer.
