FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — C.M. Finch Elementary School’s Parent Advisory Council is hosting its Falcon Fiesta this weekend to raise funds for children’s enrichment and education.

The Falcon Fiesta is a two-part event that will be held at the Lido Theatre on April 20th. It features an afternoon screening of Disney’s 2021 film Encanto for kids and an adults-only fiesta in the evening.

According to Jon Gosselin, the vice chair of the PAC and event organizer, the advisory council raises funds for school trips, supplies, and other school-related expenses.

“Winter is finally coming to an end, and what better way to bring spring and summer into our area than having some fun by learning how to dance and all sorts of different things?” said Gosselin.

The fiesta will have an adults-only (19+) event at 7 p.m. with live music, food and drinks, a silent auction, Latin dance instruction, games, and more.

Tickets are selling for $44.36 each and can be purchased here.

Gosselin says the food at the event will be catered by Red Barn Café & Catering.

The event will also feature a silent auction, where participants can bid on prizes such as gift cards, footwear gift packages and more.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help with the event can apply here.

“If just having amazing food, listening to live music, learning how to dance salsa, and playing games doesn’t entice you, then I sure hope those auctions do,” said Gosselin.

The screening of Encanto starts off the day’s events, playing from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. However, the event is already sold out.
