DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Renovations are complete on six ball diamonds at Kin Park in Dawson Creek, thanks in part to a $42,588 Recreation Infrastructure grant through Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT).

The diamonds now have upgraded berms, making the playing fields more level. The metal framework on the stands was also replaced, and new roofs were installed on the dugouts.

The City of Dawson Creek expressed their gratitude to NDIT on Facebook for the grant.

“The renovations completed at our Kin Park Ball Diamonds last year will enhance the experience for all as we head into this year’s ball season,” wrote the city.

“NDIT has provided funding for many City of Dawson Creek projects over the years, and they have many grant streams available to assist with projects in our community. If you are part of a non-profit or society that hasn’t utilized these grants yet, we highly recommend,” they added.
