Behind the Scenes
One of our main areas of focus is local politics. While provincial and federal decisions may seem splashier, the things decided in local council across northeast BC affect us all on a day-to-day basis. That’s why we even have a reporter who focuses primarily on civic coverage and writes our bi-weekly newsletter Peace Politics.
A new project for us in 2024 is our series Council Corner in collaboration with the City of Fort St John. Twice a month, after regular council meetings, we will be sitting down with a member of council to discuss the important issues affecting the municipality. So far we have three episodes and we have discussed crime, the 100th Street Revitalization Project, senior housing, and more.
