Roxanne Chmelyk, president of the Fort St. John and Area Senior Care Foundation, said the event was well attended.
“I would say 110…that’s how many tickets [we’re sold] for this [the jamboree].”
While over 100 people purchased tickets for the event, Chmelyk said fundraising saw a dip.
“Our fundraising was not as good as it has been in the past,” said Chmelyk. “That could be because of the economy, or it could be because it was such a beautiful day. We did have the people, we had a full house, so that was nice.”

The official dollar amount raised will not be released until the foundation’s next meeting after a member of the foundation counts it.
Over 100 people attended last year’s Senior Jamboree.
Chmelyk said the best part of the event is just seeing people out enjoying themselves.
“People enjoy the dancing and the singing…The highlight is just all the fellowship and all the good memories, stories and music.”

According to Chmelyk, the foundation is looking for ways to revitalize the event ahead of next year’s jamboree, including a possible change in venue or programming.
