Fort St. John RCMP, fire department investigate possible arson

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Fire Department responded to an early Tuesday morning structure fire that was later deemed suspicious.

Four firefighters arrived on the scene on Swanson Street just before 4:00 a.m. to find a working fire within the residence. Two apparatus with seven additional firefighters arrived shortly after.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire, and while operations were underway, they deemed the fire suspicious.

RCMP was on the scene and is working with the fire investigator to determine the cause of the fire.

No occupants were home when crews arrived, and no injuries were reported.
