Dawson Creek Co-op’s new fertilizer plant in Rolla is up and running

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The Dawson Creek Co-op announced Tuesday that its new fertilizer shed and distribution facility in Rolla is now complete and fully operational.

According to a release, the new state-of-the-art upgraded fertilizer plant has a storage capacity of 6,000 metric tonnes. It can also blend product at speeds of up to 280 metric tonnes per hour — almost five times quicker than the previous system acquired in 2017, the release said.

“We are very proud and excited to see the full potential of these facility upgrades as they will continue to contribute to the long-term economic success of our local farmers by providing enhanced efficiencies and services in the delivery of our full offering of fertilizer
and crop inputs,” said Rod Hillary, the Chief Executive Officer of the Dawson Co-op.

A grand opening ceremony was held on Tuesday to celebrate the completion of the project after around nine months of construction at Co-op’s Rolla Ag site.
