(UPDATED)Alaska Highway open after five people were injured in collision
The Alaska Highway was closed Wednesday afternoon after a collision.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Five people were taken to hospital, one in critical condition, after a multi-vehicle collision on the Alaska Highway in Fort St. John Wednesday afternoon.
The collision happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 100th Street and the Alaska Highway and involved multiple vehicles.
BC Emergency Health Services said it sent four ambulances with primary care paramedics, an advanced care paramedic response unit, an air ambulance with critical care paramedics, and a clinical operations director to the scene.
Paramedics treated five patients. One was transported to hospital in critical condition, two in serious condition, and two others in serious but stable condition.
The Alaska Highway and 100th Street were closed in both directions at the intersection for several hours after the collision. Both reopened as of 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Energeticcity.ca is still awaiting more information from the RCMP regarding the collision.
