Charlie Lake Fire Department fighting another brush fire

The Charlie Lake Fire Department is on the scene of another brush fire on Highway 29 and 281 Road.

CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. — The Charlie Lake Fire Department is on the scene of another brush fire on Highway 29 and 281 Road.

According to the Peace River Regional District (PRRD), the fire is approximately two acres and is a rank 1-2 fire, meaning a smouldering ground fire to low vigour surface fire.

The attending fire chief reported to the PRRD that they have a good handle on the fire, and no structures are currently at risk.

The fire resulted from open-air burning, according to the regional district.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, there are approximately 17 wildfires in the region.
