The scammers have reportedly used the name of a legitimate paving company, Eco Line Paving, and the RCMP have confirmed the company does not operate in B.C.

It is believed the suspects are impersonating company employees to gain homeowners’ trust.

The RCMP is asking anyone approached by individuals claiming to work for Eco Line Paving to be wary and report suspicious behaviour.

Police say homeowners should verify the company’s and employees’ legitimacy before agreeing to any work.

Anyone with information on this scam or one similar is asked to contact the Dawson Creek detachment at 250-784-3700.
